A BRIEF GLIMPSE

THE BEGINNING

The CYCLE Kids program began in 2004 as an after-school program in Somerville, Massachusetts. In 2006, the Chidren's Aid Society launched the first New York City-based program, and in 2008 our collaboration with Boston University began. After receiving enough traction and support, the program launched in 13 schools in 2009.

GROWING PARTNERS

By 2012, the program spread in popularity and grew nationally in 7 states. Four years later, NavajoYes! is acquired as a CYCLE Kids partner in Arizona to bring programs to the Navajo Nation. In 2018, a partnership with the Walton Family Foundation forms, and the Ozark Mountain programs in Arkansas opened.

THE PROGRESSION

Fourteen years after its birth, the CYCLE Kids program has spread to over 11 states by 2018. Shortly after that, CYCLE Kids Bikes was born to create lightweight kid's bikes and helmets that donate 5% of each sale to the CYCLE Kids organization to support their schools. Our goal is to one day be active in communities across all 50 states!
